Public Art
Numerous studies show art as a key element to breathing new life into the "soul" of a community and its residents. Through our Art-turnatives for Building Community Program, George Gadson Studios seeks to bring back to life the forgotten history found in many communities and capture civic memories through site specific design works. Such efforts aid in rebuilding the tangible and intangible characters of the community, bring disparate groups together, create safer neighborhoods, and promote a greater sense of belonging.
Through organizing and facilitating community focus group, we seek to capture the sentiments of community members, which aid in developing a conceptual design that is well received and accepted by the community. We are committed to working collaboratively with design teams of engineers, architects and construction firms, and the community.
